"My Crazy World"

I have decided to continue my forays into the literary world, moving from non-fiction into the world of poetry.

My latest offering is now available on Amazon for the Kindle and is titled "My Crazy World".

This is a collection of poems covering a range of topics.  They are based on insights and observations drawn from my own life experiences and I hope that there is a little of something for everyone in this collection.

"My Crazy World" is available to buy now priced at only £1.92

"Caring For Mum"

Over the past three years I have been involved in a personal family situation that has kept me away from the film business.  My family and myself have faced a number of challenges and we still do on almost a daily basis.

In an effort to try and make something positive come out of these experiences I finally sat down and started writing.

The results of my musings hit the market yesterday.  My first self-published book is now available to buy for the kindle on Amazon.

"Caring for Mum" is a short guidebook which covers some of the challenges I faced whilst caring for my mother following her stroke three years ago.  It is my hope that my experiences may be of use to others who find themselves in a similar position.

The book can be purchased direct from Amazon using the following link:

Purchase "Caring For Mum" here.

If you don't have a kindle then don't worry, there is a free app available which will allow Kindle books to be viewed on a smartphone, tablet or even your P.C.

Percy Publishing

Since re-forming my company I have been very fortunate to work with some amazing people, not all of whom are directly involved in the film industry.  One such group are the owners of an awesome publishing house based in London.  Percy Publishing are rapidly establishing themselves in the field, attracting some excellent, new writing talent.  With a little luck I hope to work closely with Percy Publishing in the future helping to produce some of their on-line advertising material.

Here is my first piece of work to help them along.

If you are interested in seeing what Percy Publishing are doing, or in maybe joining them as a new author then please follow the link below.

On A Prayer Productions Movie Logo

So, Having created the logo, the next task was to animate for use on my films and after a little bit of playing, this is what I came up with.  I hope you like it.

On A Prayer Productions

After taking such a long time out of the business (almost two and a half years) my production company, Red Sky Productions pretty much died a natural death.  Rather than trying to re-energise the old company I took the decision to re-invent myself and the production company, effectively building again from scratch.

As regular followers may have realised, since my return to film-making I have taken a very different direction from previous endeavours.  It made a lot more sense therefore to create a completely new identity to match that direction.

This has taken some thought, however I am now happy to introduce you to my new production company.  Say hello to:

I would like to thank my old band "Rachels Breakdown" for allowing me to use the artwork from their first single as the inspiration for my new Logo design.

Introducing Ray Quinn

I was fortunate to get the opportunity to meet one of the stars of the up-coming film Reapers Shadow .  Former x-factor star Ray Quinn will be playing one of the lead roles in the film and members of the cast and crew were invited to spend an evening with Ray at The Rabbit Hole to help him on his way as he begins his pre album tour and to celebrate the launch of his new E.P.

It was a great social evening and a wonderful way for cast and crew to meet for the first time in great surroundings with an awesome, relaxed atmosphere.

Ray is now on tour and I would heartily recommend a visit to one of his gigs, here is a clip from his performance just to give you a taste of what to expect.

"Reapers Shadow"

Well 2015 is really starting to get interesting for me now. Not satisfied with having me on board with feature film "The Middle Man"Philip Howard has now asked me to work alongside him once again, this time as 2nd Assistant Director, a post I have happily accepted.

The film is called "Reapers Shadow" and is an adaptation from a book of the same name written by Joseph Sultana.  Joe has also written the script adaptation for the film and having read the script I can honestly say that this one is going to be awesome.

And for those of you interested in getting to grips with this story in advance of the film (and who wouldn't?) the book is on sale now via Percy Publishing.

You can expect more up-dates to follow in the fullness of time :-)

"The Mothertown" official trailer

Ok, so I am working on a feature at the moment - it is in post production which translates as - on my editing suite - but I thought people might like to see a bit of a preview.

This is a zombie film with a difference.  Shot on a micro-budget of £500 over a period of around seven months.  Written and directed by John Williams.  This promises to be a lot of fun and is scheduled for release later this year.  For the moment however, here is the trailer edited by the man himself Mr John Williams.

Enjoy :-)

The Middle Man

I am very happy to announce my involvement in a new feature film currently in pre-production.  It is called "The Middle Man" and is being directed by Phil Howard who, as you will know also directed "All About Janet" .

The film will also feature a number of artists from "All About Janet", especially my favourite up and coming actress Val Monk who I am really looking forward to working with again.

This will be my biggest project to date and it sees me stepping in front of the camera again as well as working on the crew in the sound and editing department.

This past month has been a really exciting time for me and I am really looking forward to all of the new opportunities that are coming my way.  Thank you to everyone responsible for giving me these chances - you know who you are guys.

All About Janet

This past weekend I was asked by a good friend to help out with a film she was working on in Birmingham.  I have to say it was a really great weekend.  I was originally brought in to do the sound for the film, however things have progressed a little since then and I am now also editing it as well.

I am really excited about this one.  It is a short but very powerful film with a superb cast and excellent crew.  The film is directed by Phil Howard and is set to be premièred later this year.  The cast comprises of:

This is definitely one to watch (and not just because I'm editing it lol).  Seriously, a lot of hard work has gone into this by some very dedicated and talented individuals.

Coffe4Craig charity music video

Ok so following on from my last blog I have been working tirelessly with my good friends Danyl Rathband and James Earnshaw.

In order to help raise both awareness and funds for Coffee4Craig Ian Jenkins and Rod Barry got together to write a song for them.  It is a wonderful Reggae number and they got an authentic feel to it thanks to the talents of Marlon Clark, the vocalist they brought in to perform it.

Myself, Danyl and James were brought in to make a music video for the song.  In fairness James did the lions share of the work on this project acting as both director and editor.  We all believe we have a really good product at the end of the day.

It has been officially released today on-line and all proceeds from the single will go directly to Coffee4Craig to help fund the wonderful work they do in helping the homeless.  So please follow the link below and enjoy the music, knowing as you do that you have just helped someone.

My deepest thanks to everyone involved in this.

Coffee 4 Craig

As my first action upon returning to the business I have decided to help two wonderful young ladies from Manchester.

I would like to introduce you to Risha and Fie.  They operate a "not for profit" organisation called "Coffee 4 Craig" aimed at offering support to the homeless community in the Manchester area.

I could spend the next several pages detailing all of the amazing work they are doing but it would be much easier if you followed this link to their facebook page.  Please take the time to look around, see what these girls are all about and more importantly see if there is a way that you can offer them some support or help.

Rest assured you will be hearing more about these two young angels in the very near future so watch this space.

Returning to The Fold

For those of you who have been visiting my blog you will have noticed a definite lack of material for the last couple of years.  This has been due to an unfortunate set of circumstances in my personal life which has made it impossible for me to continue building my film making career in the way I had originally planned.

While those circumstances have not really diminished, they have changed to such an extent that I can now consider returning to my passion albeit at a greatly reduced pace.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have offered their support during these difficult times, it has been greatly appreciated.
